Updated Airport Procedures at Beijing Daxing International

policy • 20 March 2026

Beijing Daxing International Airport has introduced streamlined immigration procedures for international arrivals, reducing average processing times from 45 minutes to approximately 20 minutes. The improvements include additional automated passport gates and multilingual assistance staff. Australian travellers arriving at Daxing can now use the e-gates if they have registered their passport biometrics on a previous visit. First-time visitors will still go through manual immigration but benefit from the expanded staffing. The airport has also improved its ground transportation signage in English, with clear directions to the express metro line (35 minutes to central Beijing) and taxi ranks. A new tourist information counter near the arrivals hall provides free city maps and SIM card purchasing assistance.
