China’s tourism infrastructure is expanding quickly, with **new hotel openings**, **fresh brand entries**, and a strong development pipeline across major cities and leisure destinations. Recent announcements show international hotel groups deepening their presence in China, which is good news for travellers looking for more choice in both city stays and resort-style trips.[1][2][3] According to *China Travel News* and related industry reporting, the pipeline reached **3,602 projects** and **640,328 rooms** by the end of the first quarter of 2026, while new project announcements and construction starts also remained active.[1] Recent openings and signings include the **Radisson Collection Hotel, Hi-Tech Zone Chengdu**, which has opened as the brand’s first hotel in Southwest China, and the planned **Regent Chengdu**, due in **Q3 2029** as part of a mixed-use development in Chengdu’s Jinjiang District.[6][5] For travellers, this means more internationally branded accommodation is becoming available beyond Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Holiday Inn also announced **24 new hotel signings across Greater China**, with future openings planned in major hubs and regional destinations such as **Zhanjiang, Yinchuan, Hulunbeir, Nanchang and Yichang**, while Accor says it plans to **double its China presence to 1,600 hotels** over the next five to six years.[2][10]Sources
