China’s tourism infrastructure continues to expand with a mix of **new hotel openings** and major mixed-use developments that are adding fresh options for travellers. Recent openings include **MGM Shenzhen Prince Bay**, a **298-room luxury hotel** in Shekou’s Nanshan District, which opened on 10 September and is positioned near the Shekou Cruise Home Port.[3][4] Another notable addition is **Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton**, which opened on 16 September at Hang Lung’s Center 66 in Wuxi, bringing a new premium stay option to one of the city’s key shopping and business precincts.[8][9] According to China Daily and other industry reporting, China’s hotel development pipeline remains very large, with Chengdu alone having **127 hotel projects** under construction or preparation by the end of the second quarter of 2026, and about **22,800 rooms** in the pipeline.[2] For travellers, the practical takeaway is that major Chinese cities are continuing to add **high-end accommodation near transport and commercial hubs**, which makes city stays, cruise connections and multi-stop itineraries easier to plan. Industry reports also note that large hotel groups are partnering with local state-owned firms to accelerate future openings, including planned hotel builds in **Chengdu** and **Guangzhou** over the next few years.[2]
