China Flights Update — 11 October 2026
flights • 11 October 2026
China’s international air network is expanding ahead of the northern-hemisphere winter season, with new connections offering more ways to reach regional gateways and continue onwards to popular Chinese destinations. According to China Airlines, additional departures from **Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Taipei** are available on selected dates from late October through November 2026, with onward connections to **Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shenzhen**. Selected fares are advertised at up to 20 per cent off, although travellers should confirm availability and baggage conditions before booking.[2] Elsewhere in the region, **Shenzhen Airlines launched a Bandar Seri Begawan–Shenzhen service on 30 September**. The route initially operates four times weekly as a three-month charter before moving to three scheduled flights weekly, creating a useful connection into southern China and Shenzhen’s wider domestic network.[9] Malaysia Airlines and China Southern will also expand their codeshare coverage from **25 October**, adding Kuala Lumpur connections to **Shenzhen, Changsha, Xiamen, Chengdu Tianfu and Zhengzhou**—potentially useful options for Australians combining Malaysia with a China itinerary.[3]Sources
