China’s hotel scene is adding several new options for Australian visitors, from an urban micro-holiday precinct in Beijing to resort and lifestyle properties scheduled across major destinations. **Beijing’s new hotel cluster opens in Tongzhou** According to TTG China, the four-property Jianguo Li hotel cluster officially opens on 25 October 2026 at Wanli·Tingyun Town in Beijing’s Tongzhou district. The group includes Jianguo Puyin, Jianguo Bocuì, Jianguo Bocuì Courtyard and Jianguo Feiman, catering to cultural stays, family holidays, business trips and short urban escapes.[1] The opening-day programme includes free public activities such as lacquer-fan handicrafts, fragrance workshops, cultural exhibitions and performances featuring Peking Opera, guqin and chamber music. The location may appeal to travellers combining Beijing sightseeing with a quieter stay in the city’s eastern urban-subcentre. **New hotels broaden China’s resort and city-break choices** A late-2026 hotel pipeline includes the FILA HOUSE Shanghai, expected to open in the fourth quarter as the first FILA sports-fashion lifestyle hotel; the Westin Xiamen Nanyang; Marriott Wuxi Maoye; Pullman Nanjing Riverside; and the Sanya Sigunas Diving Resort, which is expected to begin trial operations in the fourth quarter before a full opening in the first quarter of 2027.[2] Travellers planning future itineraries can also watch for Lux* On The Bund Shanghai, scheduled for the second quarter of 2027, and the planned Haichang Ocean Park beside Universal Beijing Resort. The Beijing attraction is expected to include a 157,100-square-metre indoor aquarium and hotel complex, with opening anticipated in 2027.[6]
