Shanghai Disney Resort will open its third hotel, **Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel**, on 16 December 2026. The 400-room premium property beside Wishing Star Lake will include the resort’s first outdoor swimming pool, indoor recreation facilities, themed play areas, restaurants and shops. Bookings open at midnight on 6 November, making it a practical new accommodation option for Australian families planning a Shanghai Disneyland visit.[2] China’s hotel supply also continues to expand beyond the major gateway cities. Industry data reported in late October indicates national hotel supply grew 6% year on year by the end of September, while major operators Huazhu and Atour recorded 1,700 and 361 openings respectively during the first three quarters of 2026.[1] For travellers, the growth means more choice across different price points, although booking early remains advisable for popular destinations and peak holiday periods. In western China, a new dual-branded development in Yining, Xinjiang, is scheduled to introduce the Tivoli and NH hotel brands in 2026. The project is planned to include 200 rooms for each brand, alongside commercial facilities and a cultural performance centre, with access by road, high-speed rail and air. It could provide a useful base for travellers exploring Xinjiang’s regional attractions.[4]
