China’s hotel sector is entering a busy opening period, adding new accommodation options for Australian travellers planning city breaks, resort holidays and multi-stop itineraries. **Beijing’s new Jianguoli hotel cluster opens 25 October.** TTG China reports that four Jianguo-branded hotels will launch together at Wanli in Beijing’s Tongzhou district, covering boutique stays, contemporary design, courtyard-style family holidays and wellness-focused accommodation.[1] The adjacent properties will form a small urban-resort destination, with cultural displays, traditional craft workshops, live performances and food experiences planned for the opening celebration. Travellers visiting Beijing’s eastern districts can consider the cluster for a quieter alternative to central accommodation, while checking transport connections before booking. **More international-style hotels are scheduled for late 2026 and 2027.** Planned openings include FILA HOUSE Shanghai, the first FILA sports-fashion lifestyle hotel, during the fourth quarter of 2026; Xiamen Nanyang Westin and Nanjing Riverside Pullman are also listed for the same period.[2] A new Haichang Ocean Park complex beside Universal Beijing Resort is expected to open in 2027, combining a large indoor aquarium with an eight-storey resort hotel in Tongzhou.[5] **IHG is also expanding its locally themed Vignette Collection across Greater China.** New properties are planned or being added in Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beidaihe, Qiandao Lake and Sanya, with experiences centred on regional culture, coastal settings and resort activities.[6] Opening schedules can change, so Australian visitors should confirm that a property is accepting bookings and check airport, rail and local transport connections before finalising an itinerary.
